@Alan_Couzens Would extend these comments to longer duration (45-60) farmer walks and suitcase carries with 25 or 35 lbs kettlebells? I’ve presumed the core strengthening, postural, and grip strength benefits are worth the strange looks from neighbors. 🤔
@BenjiNaesen True. His climbing support was a very pleasant surprise. WvA underwhelming by his usual standards. Kuss a bit better than my low-balled expectations after his 2024.
Remco could be a dynamite super-domestique for Florian Lipowitz in next year’s Tour.
Chapeau to Remco, he can become a rich team’s version of Ilan van Wilder. 👏
@BenjiNaesen Hmm. Gives a different flavor to vid EF put out that shows team car in thinking a large break with time favors them because they will find ‘collaboration’ (presumably vs. del Toro). I assume they didn’t think Yates would get much ahead of Richie. https://t.co/6o9BbanfPy
@LawMurrayTheNU One might counter that Josh Hart canned a pair of threes; Robinson was 4/4 from the foul line; and NY shot 47% behind the arc, yet the Knicks are only tied.
@redrock_bball . . . maybe. A key argument in cycling that isn’t applicable to basketball is that the side effects increase the risk of a crash — endangering the person taking the med and potentially tens of other riders around them in a tightly packed peloton.
One year later . . . cycling fans bullying Jumbo-Visma into letting Sepp Kuss win the ‘23 Vuelta looks extraordinarily anomalous (and IMO a little shabby).
#GCKuss was fun at the time, but for cycling history I’d rather that GT win was on the palmares of Jonas or Rogla.
@BenjiNaesen SD Worx self-sabotage — due arrogance, incompetence, or team politics, take your pick —delivers the TDF Femmes to the second-strongest rider.
@EnduranceAgency@friebos I don’t wish Blu to crash, but I gotta think a longtime triathlete (generally speaking) has markedly higher bone density than the average rider who has been a top tier cyclist since their early teens.
@friebos@DanDeakins Additional context — Jonas conceded some of this time working for the GC ambitions of Roglic in 2021. (For example, O:55 if this was lost on Stage 3, when Roglic crashed and Jonas, Teunissen, and Kruijswik helped to limit his losses).
@ClaireMPLS Can’t guess at wins and losses. Or how a psycho perfectionist at his craft will cope with his players’ foibles. But I can confidently predict that he’ll visibly age in that job like Obama in the White House.
