One of the strengths of the blues is its refusal to pretend that life is easy. It gives voice to grief, injustice, loneliness, failure, and disappointment.

However long or brief our life, we can all choose at the end to lay our lives down in the manner of Christ, to be crucified with Christ, and to be raised with him to eternal life. Death comes to us all, so let’s face it as did Christ, in confidence of the one who raises us up.
