Almost a third of newly-qualified midwives say they are unable to find work, despite a so-called 'chronic' shortage of midwives in maternity care. That's according to the industry body the Royal College of Midwives.
It says many of its members are having to turn to other sectors - including retail, hospitality and cleaning - to try and find a job.
