*THE SILENT COMPETITION NOBODY ADMITS TO*.
Driving has quietly turned into a game.
Who gets ahead.
Who merges first.
Who refuses to let someone in.
Who “wins” the lane.
You see it every day.
Someone speeds up just to block a merge.
Someone closes a gap the moment an indicator appears.
Someone refuses to move over because “I was here first.”
There is no prize.
No medal.
No scoreboard.
No applause.
Just tension.
And ego.
Some drivers treat a two-second gap like a personal insult.
Like letting someone merge is a sign of weakness.
Like courtesy equals defeat.
It does not.
It equals maturity.
The road is not a leaderboard.
It is shared infrastructure.
Yet people will risk a collision to protect their position in traffic.
For what?
To arrive one car length ahead?
To feel dominant for three seconds?
To prove something to a stranger they will never see again?
That is not skill.
That is insecurity on four wheels.
The most dangerous thing on our roads is not always speed.
It is status. The driver of a Government owned car wears the jacket of impunity. The owner of a huge 4×4 wheel drive feels he should own a road !
Driving exposes ego more than almost anything else in public life.
The question is simple:
When you drive…
are you participating in traffic,
or competing in it?
Be honest.
