Okay, hear me out! I’m convinced Thee and Juno are already together! That’s why Thee says at the beginning, ‘This has nothing to do with what we have.’

My theory is that Thee is struggling with substance misuse, and Juno is desperately trying to help him. The way Thee says, “I am the worst,” feels very much like someone who knows they’ve hurt the person they love but is trapped in a cycle of self-destructive behaviour they can’t seem to break.
And that’s exactly why Juno says at the end, ‘Just go and die then. If that’s the best you can do, then go rot in whatever hell you want.’

To me, that isn’t cruelty or bitchiness. It’s the reaction of someone who has reached their breaking point after trying so hard to save someone they love. In NuNew’s performance, you can see the heartbreak, helplessness, and overwhelming disappointment. Juno isn’t speaking out of hatred, he’s speaking from a place of deep pain. And honestly, that’s why the scene feels devastating.
