I read a quote from an unknown author that read "Those who spend all day complaining, do not know how the world works", and it got me thinking about the beginning of my career.

It was easy to see what other organizations should be doing while ignoring how I could be better at my job. This Hypocrisy Bias is the tendency to criticize others for behaviors while being blind to the same behaviors in oneself (cont.)

It reminds me of what happened when I tried to cover a teammates assigned gap on a the football field as a linebacker… I left my responsibility wide open.

Hypocrisy Bias is closely related to self-serving bias, where individuals take credit for successes but blame external factors for failures. A quote to remember is “Success has a thousand fathers, while failure is an orphan.”
