Perinatal mental wellbeing is a key component of mental and brain health interventions. Delegates appreciated how lived experiences are vital to informing interventions; the need for innovations and interventions to reach the 190 million women globally who become pregnant each year (71 million in LMICs and 1.7 million in Kenya); how families and healthcare providers can involve fathers in helping mothers experiencing mental health challenges; and how stigma in affecting access to healthcare for parenting teenagers.
