The last time I travelled home by bus from Abuja to Lagos my wife complained bitterly after she offered to pay for my flight and I refused. There was a personal reason I refused. In fact, when I was to return, she made sure I didn't have to go by road.
Valid as hell on the family’s part.
Cos I can’t go anywhere without my man and us going together via the same means.
If we can’t afford flight, we go use road together. Selfishness aside, it shows a great absence of care.
How do you feel safe and fine with your man being on the road then you dey hotel dey wait?😭🤦🏽♀️
Call it extreme but with the way Nigeria is, I’d feel better God forbid if anything were to happen and both of us are together. Let them take both of us or let’s both be stranded in gridlock for days. It’s part of the memories we will tell our kids, than for me to be safe and then worrying about his safety.
I literally lose my mind when my best friend travels alone and I can’t go with the igede pikin, till the goat comes back to Abj (where we can continue sharing locations and day updates even if we are in different parts of town), Then my husband to be go dey road and I go use air? Howw?!
Except I don hit head for wall and I dey marry for money not love (and even then I’d want to secure my investment/benefactor and not have him on the road).
Very valid o. Cos tf is that level of selfishness, wickedness and cold heartedness.
Imagine traveling 12 hours by road from Lagos to Cross River State, only for your family to reject your fiancée because she chose to fly.
A man travelled from Lagos to Ogoja, Cross River State, to introduce his girlfriend to his family before their court wedding.
He took a night bus to Abakaliki, then boarded another bus to Ogoja. Despite the exhausting journey, he was happy that his family was finally going to meet the woman he intended to marry.
But when his girlfriend mentioned that she had flown from Lagos to Calabar and waited at a hotel for him to arrive, the atmosphere changed.
His family immediately labelled her selfish. According to them, how could she fly while her man travelled by road?
