I qualified in 1979. I am a trifle tired of seeing some of my contemporaries mouthing off. Yes, my initial pay was £1/hrs for first 40 hours and the next 76 hours compulsory overtime 33p/hr. Desperately silly hours.

...but I had tuition fees paid and a grant for living expenses (my parents had to top up to advised level). We worked as a team "The Firm" , patients were in hospital long enough for us to learn much about natural history of disease & continuity of care 2/3
@TheRSC#JuliusCaesar Just seen the matinée. What a travesty. So much of Shakespeare's subtleties lost in over-woke production and casting. Sign language put big barrier up to majority who don't speak it. Dreadful.
sensible suggestion on @BBCRadio4Today by former chair of pay review body that govt should ask it to to revisit its recommendation this year taking account of data on inflation not available at time of its original decision @Jeremy_Hunt@SteveBarclay
