Astrophysicist at the @UniTurku. I design particle instruments, simulate them in Geant4, and calibrate them in space. I am fond of cycling, hiking, and sailing.
Everything is ready for a total dose test at @STUK_FI . The Radics project looks for ways to test reliability without compromise in cost for the New Space missions. This test is for STM32 devices.
I am very thankful for the paternity leave I could take when I became a father for the second time. We still have little sleep and I cannot imagine how my wife would manage alone. Now we have two boys ☺️
I noticed that the #groundstation is now visible in Google maps. When we lost Foresail-1 resource allocation became even tighter. As there is no clear sign I have more time for it, I hope I can get a student to make it finally operating as planned.
EMI shield fitting went well for MIRA 😀 Under this metal cover is a high voltage generator. Unless shielded, that generator can worsen the scientific capabilities of the radiation monitor. @PhysUtu@cleanorbits
@BSCRedrojo@IoPDerby I have a student who stimulates the Martian environment to see if humans can live there for substantial time. Good luck with the talk! It's a nice rising topic I find curious!
Our miniature radiation monitor MIRA is being tested step by step. This time we take the analog signal out and analyse it independently. Now MIRA has everything but its digital system running. Soon, MIRA shall fly on a balloon from Sodankylä. @PhysUtu@cleanorbits@SGO_FI
