The title of the photo, "Tazama," means "to gaze or stare" in Swahili.
Indeed, the main subject of this photo is a leopard staring at us.
Leopards are ferocious hunters and professional hunters in the field.
The leopard uses trees to hide himself, but his eyes certainly catch us.
Thus, a strong sense of fear and tension can be felt from this photograph.

However, although leopards are often the object of such fear, they are not just ferocious beings.
Sometimes they protect their offspring of different species and act out of love that is beyond the scope of human understanding.

写真のタイトルになっている「Tazama」は、スワヒリ語で「見つめる、凝視する」という意味だそうです。
確かにこの写真の主役は、こちらをじっと見つめる1匹のヒョウ。
ヒョウは獰猛なハンターであり、フィールドにおける狩りのプロです。
木々に身を隠しながらも確実にこちらの姿を捉えており、ある種の恐怖や緊張感が感じられます。

そんな恐怖の対象になりがちなヒョウですが、ただ凶暴な存在なのかというと、そうではありません。
時には異種族の子供を守り育てるなど、人間の理解の範疇を越えた愛情に溢れた行動を取ることもあります。
人間と同じで、きっと彼らの社会もまた「複雑なもの」なのでしょう。

そうした背景を知ると、このヒョウ眼差しの意味も変わって見えるかもしれませんね。

When we verbalize the reason for this, most of them answer, "Photographs are too realistic".
Then I would like to recommend an abstract photograph to you.

This photo has a pop of color and shows an inorganic object.
At a quick glance, it is hard to tell what is being photographed, but if you look at the title of the photo... "Bellows," you will see that it is a close-up of some kind of "bellows component".

その理由を言語化していくと、写真はイメージする解像度が高すぎるからだと答える方が大半です。
では、そんなあなたに抽象的な写真はどうでしょうか？

ポップな色味に、やや無機質な物体。
ぱっと見ただけでは何を写しているのかがわかりませんが、写真のタイトルに目を向けてみると…「Bellows」、なるほど���なにかの「蛇腹部品」をアップで撮っていることがわかります。

オレンジ色の背景に映える青い蛇腹。色の対比が面白いです。
写真はメッセージ性の強いものも多いですが、たまにはこうした抽象的な写真もいいですよね。

この写��の主役は、1人のバレリーナです。
そして美しい彫刻が施されている大きな2本の柱が、写真を観た時のインパクトを大きなものにしています。
そして柱の間にバレリーナを配置することで、安定感のある構図に落とし込んでいます。

しかし、画面下にご注目。
面積にして1/4ほどですが、無数のハトがランダムに配置��れています。
これにより上部の安定感を崩し、「意図的に」写真全体としてきっちりとし過ぎないように仕上げています。
芸術的になり過ぎぬよう、ハトを使ってリアリティを残している点に高い技術を感じます。

However, please pay attention to the bottom of the screen.
It is only about 1/4 of the area, but countless pigeons are randomly placed.
This breaks the sense of stability at the top, and "intentionally" makes the picture as a whole not too cohesive.

花の茎部分の毛状突起も浮かび上がり、茎にハイライトをプラス。
これにより絵画的になり過ぎず、リアルな質感を残せています。絶妙な調整です。
