@hyabu@b7vventy there's lots of content so things get introduced gradually & the first palace is a bit slow. it really kicks in once you finish it and the game lets you use your time freely imo. i'd say finish the first palace at least and see if you like the lifesim, combat also gets better
@Jests_Hitman@That1Nugget@MeedasPerson@BigPlungus those two quoted phrases are pancakes and waffles dude surely you can see that as well when you read it back. punishing in this context (game design) doesn't mean they literally tie you up and spank you it just means they're limiting your effectiveness/giving you a disadvantage
@ToniSmalloni@_38mb to be clear i'm not trying to glaze the pack, i'm just saying that even if the following 70% of the video after he made his critiques was just him farting into the mic his initial point would still be accurate. most people complaining haven't even watched/seen his proposals
@ToniSmalloni@_38mb that's fair, but any issues can always be addressed in an update. the effectiveness of the solutions is arguable of course but i feel that the central thesis is accurate. there seems to be a strong design direction (unlike vanilla). hopefully it'll be better in the next iteration
@Jests_Hitman@That1Nugget@MeedasPerson@BigPlungus no and i never said i though that so i'm not sure what you're arguing about. obviously using intended in-universe machinery to automate existing systems is not the same thing as an xp farm for example
@Jests_Hitman@That1Nugget@MeedasPerson@BigPlungus did you actuallywatch the video or read any of what i wrote because neither of us have said those words at all, of course it isn't "ruining the game for people" it's just an odd design choice that incentivizes passive play
@Jests_Hitman@That1Nugget@MeedasPerson@BigPlungus all i'm going to say is that if minecraft wasn't this immutable behemoth and instead just any other game being developed by a team with an actual creative vision the patch notes would read "Fixed an exploit where villagers could be provoked to summon a golem indefinitely"
@Jests_Hitman@That1Nugget@MeedasPerson@BigPlungus at this point i'm so stumped by your viewpoint ("unintended mechanics competing with the intended game loop and creating a massive gap in progression speed is fine because you can just ignore them") that i'm choosing to leave, clearly neither of us will be convinced
