We are thrilled to share our new study titled "Doxycycline's Potential Role in Reducing Thrombosis and Mortality in Critically Ill Patients With COVID-19: A Multicenter Cohort Study"
Animal studies have previously shown promising effects of doxycycline in preventing thrombosis and reducing mortality. However, its antithrombotic role in COVID-19 patients was relatively unknown. Hence, our aim was to bridge this knowledge gap and assess whether doxycycline could serve as an effective adjunctive therapy for critically ill patients with COVID-19. As we all know, thrombosis and mortality remain significant concerns in critically ill patients with this virus. That's why our study focused on evaluating the impact of doxycycline on clinical outcomes in this specific patient population.
After conducting a multicenter cohort study, we are thrilled to report that our findings sheds light on the potential benefits of doxycycline in against COVID-19 and showed promising results in reducing thrombosis and improving survival in critically ill patients with COVID-19.
These findings have significant implications for clinical practice and underscore the importance of exploring alternative treatment options in the battle against COVID-19. While further research is needed to validate these results, our study provides valuable insights into the potential benefits of doxycycline in this context.
We extend our gratitude to all @SCAPE_Platform investigators involved in this study. Collaboration and dedication are crucial in advancing our understanding of COVID-19 and identifying effective treatment strategies.

We are @SCAPE_Platform thrilled to share the results of our new multicenter study evaluating the effectiveness and safety of oseltamivir in critically ill patients with COVID-19. 🌐 This study represents a significant step forward in our ongoing battle against COVID-19. By continuing to explore novel treatment options, we can ultimately improve patient outcomes.
📊 Key Findings:
1️⃣ Oseltamivir was associated with faster viral clearance, which could potentially reduce the severity and duration of the illness.
2️⃣ Patients receiving oseltamivir had shorter mechanical ventilation (MV) durations, an essential factor in reducing complications and improving patient outcomes.
3️⃣ No safety concerns were identified during the study, highlighting oseltamivir's potential as a viable treatment option for critically ill COVID-19 patients.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all @SCAPE_Platform investigators. Your unwavering dedication to advancing scientific knowledge has made a lasting impact on the future of healthcare.

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a reviewer for the fourth time for the “UPDATES IN THERAPEUTICS® CRITICAL CARE PHARMACY PREPARATORY” book by the AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CLINICAL PHARMACY (@ACCP).
It is an honor to contribute to the advancement of critical care pharmacy. The UPDATES IN THERAPEUTICS® Critical CARE PHARMACY PREPARATORY book is an essential resource for pharmacists seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in critical care pharmacy.
As a reviewer, I am excited to have the opportunity to provide feedback and insights to ensure that the content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to the needs of critical care pharmacists.
I am grateful to the ACCP for entrusting me with this responsibility and look forward to continuing to work with them to advance the field of critical care pharmacy.
Exciting news! Our latest study at @SCAPE_Platform evaluating a new approach to dosing Midodrine in critically ill patients has just been published.
Our study proposes a new approach of Midodrine dosing (taperring versus non-taperring) and showed that tapering midodrine dosage before discontinuation in critically ill patients during weaning from vasopressor aids in reducing the frequency of inotrope or vasopressor re-initiation, and reduce the inotrope requirements 24-hours post midodrine initiation.
We believe that this new dosing approach has the potential to improve outcomes for critically ill patients receiving Midodrine therapy. We look forward to hearing feedback from the medical community and continuing to advance patient care.
Many thanks for all Saudi Critical Care Pharmacy Research (SCAPE) Platform investigator
