I can't express how excited I am to share today's conversation with one of my favorite living writers, the extraordinary Bhanu Kapil. With the reissue of the long unavailable Incubation: A Space for Monsters we look across her writing life entire

Started an office renovation gig today. So thankful for friends who kick work my way. Who else out there does manual labor to support their writing practice?
New poem in @KissingDPoetry today. Always thinking about our sacred spaces, bringing ruin to a place of splendor and to the stranger who embodied pleasure, this one’s for you 🖤

TONIGHT! 7pm come see the brilliant @kmsoehnlein read from his latest novel ARMY OF LOVERS at @BookSoup. I'll be chatting with him about writing, queerness, history, sex, healing, vulnerability, and power. You know, normal happy hour gossip
Hey Angelenos! I’m so excited to talk with the talented @kmsoehnlein about his gorgeous new novel ARMY OF LOVERS at @booksoup on October 28th. Come by as we dive into deep queer imaginings ✨✨ https://t.co/NDXSF0Chx7
What would you do if a highly regarded psychic told you: “The book you’ve been working on for 6 years? That you’re revising right now? It’s not the book you’re supposed to write. I know, I’m sooooo sorry, but YOUR book hasn’t been written yet, and you must start from scratch.” 😵💫
Hey y’all I’ve got a room 4 sublet in my house in Echo Park, LA starting Oct. 1-3 month stay preferred, fully furnished, living with just me, booze ok, no drugs. Hit me up or share if you know anyone! Queer/trans/POC hmu!
I’m back in LA after being on the east coast for 2.5 months & overwhelmed by acute identity crisis. I walk through the front door and immediately feel I’m not the person who walked out of it.
Day 4: Hiking is the MOST UNSEXY sport. Dirty fingernails, scabbed shins, bug bites, crotch rot, butt chafe, dried sweat, all the smells. The hikers who hook up out here are kinky af. I secretly call them ‘18th century hygiene fetishists.’
Today I start a two-week, 150 mile hike with my Pops—from the Kennebec River to Katahdin—to finish the Appalachian Trail. My goal is to tweet observations once a day as a record what happens out there, in the woods, service-willing
Day 3: When the sun finally emerges, the light is uncanny. Leaves move with bits of light and it’s like being in a kaleidoscope of green. Disorienting, like a kelp forest. It’s hard to see the trees from the trees. The river is blinding like a windshield in summer.
