@LM_LocksTeam I doubled all of the bets as my mother's Day gift, she doesn't know it yet. But she will when I give her $70 to start that DraftKings account. Plus we'll get one of the coveted last remaining referral account bonuses left in the United States.
It's not a perfect science, but to be an NBA Champion, it's more likely that they are a top defensive team than a top offensive team.
This doesn't necessarily mean it's the cause of winning a championship.
But I think it's fair to keep the phrase:
Defense wins championships.
Fun discussion from @jj_redick@LegsESPN if "Defense wins championships" still holds true today.

Dug into the last 27 years of NBA Champions (and Runner-ups) and I think it does.
Here's a breakdown:
“Defense wins championships”. Does that saying hold weight in today’s NBA? @LegsESPN and I discuss this and a lot more in this week’s episode. Full ep out tomorrow.
Sidenote: For the LeBron teams, here's the defensive rating rank reg season vs. playoffs:
- 2014 Heat (11 vs 9)
- 2015 Cavs (18 vs 4)
- 2017 Cavs (21 vs 11)
- 2018 Cavs (29 vs 11)
Besides 2015, there isn't a "lock-in" impact considering the playoffs only have 16 teams.
