If Temi Nkem might win this show, nobody should act surprised! 👑🔥 She came with confidence, she brought the spice, she gave us conversations and controversy, and most importantly, she has made herself impossible to ignore.
This is not a sympathy win. This is not a pity win. If Temi takes that crown, she EARNED it!
The outfit, the smile, the confidence… Everything is just giving. ✨
Face card also doing what face cards do. 😍 Temi is really that girl. 🤏🏽🤏🏽

Joey Akan, I’m personally pleased with what you are doing for the music industry and I benefited firsthand from these your writings, back in 2019 my master degree project was about hip hop music in Nigeria and only articles from you helped a long way. Thanks!
Joeboy off to Warner Music. Ruger floating Blown Boy Ent. Here’s why artists are increasingly leaving their labels these days:
Contracts have expired. Remember in 2018-2019, the advent of the Nigerian “new sound,” where a new wave of artists were minted, including Rema, Fireboy, BlaqBonez, Joeboy, Ruger, Oxlade and others became synonymous with wresting the baton of pop music from the older generation.
A number of them did this via the help of contracts backed by established local investment houses/individuals/companies, and later a hybrid joint venture (JV) between a local label and an international partner as Afrobeats to the world sank its claws deeper into the ecosystem.
Ruger got tied to Sony via Jonzing. Rema and Mavins became linked to Universal. BlaqBonez and Chocolate City found Warner. Oxlade has an interesting deal, but KU LO SA was released via Epic Records France licensing. Fireboy DML got into EMPIRE via a JV with Olamide’s YBNL.
Only Joeboy had Empawa and Empawa only.
It’s been roughly 5 years from that cultural wave, and the business is progressing. Often, local label contracts spot an average duration of 4-5 years, plus or minus other commitments. That implied that that generation of talents who blew in 2018-2019 are getting out of their contracts, except those who amended theirs along the way.
While some artists have renewed their deals, or found a new way to work within their existing structure to improve their value, others simply want to pursue a new business structure, especially with the availability of funding from the majors.
Joeboy and Ruger are out of contracts. And they aren’t renewing. The ones who did will never announce an exit. Neither will they publicly tell you they’ve renegotiating new points.
Afrobeats to the world and the attendant gaze of global music on this market means, artists who have leverage can now sign directly with a major or create an imprint under a major, and retain more of their pie, in their fridge.
Expect more transfer news. Clock’s ticking.
I booked 3 flights on their website mine was cancelled, the other two were return ticket for my family members and the flights have been shifted over 3 times, one was shifted to 9:55pm, Abeg why shift the flight so late? No thought of customers safety, avoid @DanaAir
This holiday season please avoid @DanaAir , they will take your money, cancel the flight and tell you in the most unapologetic way that it takes 3 months to give you a refund in this economy where flights are not cheap.
