@PaulHebrewBible@PaulHebrewBible you want a response? Then stop whining. (40:6-7). You say I forced you? Look around and what do you see? You'll find the creatures of my creation roaming freely (39:5-8). Until you can humble the proud, don't think you are innocent (40:10-14). #GodAttack#JobvGod
@garrett_unrue I'm innocent! But who cares, the judge is the one who is out to get me, it's rigged! I bet God's probably not even listening to me, you call that justice? (Job 9:13-16) #JobAttack#JobvGod
In thinking about how often the House of David is mentioned in the Bible and the weight that is given to his royal line, I can't help but wonder what our Bibles would be like had Judah been destroyed, along with David's line, and Israel left standing? I guess we'll never know...
#bibhb500 Did you know that #NotAllProphets came out of Israel! When we read the Old Testament, it's easy to assume all the main characters reside in Israel, but there's actually a large chunk of prophets that come from their sister nation of Judah.
Out of this series of crises came prophets like Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Ezekiel, all hoping to guide God's chosen people. These prophets played a major role in reinforcing the idea that God had chosen Judah and the House of David to rule over all of God's earthly kingdom.
Of course, not everyone subscribes to this idea, which is why there are at least two other theories out there. But I found this one to be the most plausible of the main three and the easiest for me to wrap my mind around. Do you have a different idea? Let me know! #bibhb500
Have you ever wondered where the ancient Israelites came from? If you had asked me weeks ago, I would've said that I'd never thought about it. Yet, after listening to @AnummaBrooke 's lectures, I find the idea fascinating. Besides, who doesn't love a good origin story! #bibhb500
Today, scholars tend to base their ideas of Israel's emergence around some aspect of the "Gradual Infiltration" model. The scholarly focus tends to be on asking what type of nomads they were and if climate change had anything to do with their movements and lifestyles.
