Most likely my last post on Twitter, and my first post on BlueSky.
Coupling a 40 year old robot to one of the latest foundation models. Tomorrow we will present the results at the Belgian Dutch Artificial Intelligence Conference.
Thanks to the experienced engineers from @aldebaranrobots at the RoboCup, we could repair the LaserHead of our first Nao (from 2010!). It could accurately detect the wall 1m ahead of him.
On the RoboCup a peek into the future is given on what the next generation of Nao robots (version 7) will over. Very excited about the increase of computing power and ToF sensors.
Never throw something away! In our lab we have a UMI-RTX robot which was bought 40 years ago (the time from Jimmy Saville as Doctor Magic).
Currently we are testing the RT-X models created by DeepMind. After some hard work the rubber band was gone, but we still had a spare!
