A key feature in suspected lumbar radiculopathy is your reflexes.
An asymmetrical loss of S1 reflex with concurrent leg pain with a history that fit is a good way to improve dx confidence.
Remember. Bilateral loss of S1 reflexes in middle & older age is pretty common.
