@PhysicsHawk The best way is to never stop asking questions about why something happens or how. Also to make an effort to be interested in more things that might not seem fascinating initially because there is always something to learn from it.
@PhysicsHawk It reveals the complexity and speed at which our brains operate. Some can hold attention better than others if they are interested in what they are doing and vice versa. Attention can be broken by any number of external factors but people can learn to focus and multitask.

@PhysicsHawk This experiment was better because at least he tried it multiple times with larger and more controlled groups. He was able to rule out more confounding variables than the psychologist even considered.
@PhysicsHawk His method was wrong because he didn't really consider any confounding variables, repeat the experiment, or have any control groups. He concluded things with no proof one thing had any association with the other.
@PhysicsHawk My thinking has been changed by a friend by being encouraged to try things I would normally not want to or be interested in. Because it is a friend telling you to try something, they make the idea seem more interesting than I would have thought on my own.

@PhysicsHawk I think that while nothing can ever be 100% safe, safety should never be prioritized lower than convenience or speed. Risks are necessary but risking safety just to fit one printed schedule is pointless.
@PhysicsHawk I think the issue of the increased homeless population is often blamed just to lack of working or government support when in reality, the situation is much deeper and contributing factors include the individual's personal life choices and struggle to recover from setbacks.
@PhysicsHawk This has to do with the question asking about the place of doubt in science. The scientists did not have enough doubt in this situation to really dive deep and consider every possible factor. I think they just thought it worked once so it will again and left it at that.
@PhysicsHawk We definitely to a certain extent ignore the problem because it worked out once before. It is easier and more convenient. Depending on the problem, I don't think it is a bad or good thing. Obviously it is a problem if the problem is something that could go wrong and hurt someone.
@PhysicsHawk While I think that is definitely unfair and that he should have gotten the credit he deserves, I am not surprised about it because the scientific community was so competitive it is pretty much expected that people will want to take credit for themselves.

@PhysicsHawk This plays out in everyday life by keeping your options open rather than just staying in your bubble of what you know. Instead, always be open to possibilities and leave room to grow. This could be anything from taking a job you never thought you would or trying something new.
