"Manuel Neuer suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right calf in the Champions League match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Wednesday evening ( 3:0 ). This was the result of an examination by FC Bayern's medical department. This means that the record champions' goalkeeper will be out for the time being."
A calf muscle strain refers to an injury or tear in the muscles of the calf, specifically the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles. These muscles, located at the back of the lower leg 🦵, play a crucial role in ankle movement and propulsion during running 🏃and jumping. Calf strains can vary in severity, ranging from mild muscle fibre disruption to a complete muscle tear. They are caused by inadequate warm up, muscle overload in rapid acceleration, deceleration or sudden change in movements and tightening of the calf muscles. Symptoms include pain in the calf muscle, swelling, tenderness, and difficulty moving the limb. Management Techniques include: manual therapy like massage and stretching together with rest, Ice application and using compression garments.

Liam Roberts had run off the penalty area to clear off the ball from the forward charging Mateta. However, his outstretched left foot heavily collided with Mateta's face and left ear due to the GK's 🧤 high boot challenge.
