Today was my last day on Mark Ward stroke & neurology - what an absolutely fantastic ward & MDT, I have loved every minute. The people on this ward are a credit to @GSTTnhs - doing magical things for their patients & making it a lovely environment to work in
Years ago, had a patient w/ severe TBI from train accident: nonverbal, global extensor synergy spasticity, unable to sit indep 1 year post
Lead PT approached her traditionally-hierarchical approach “No way we are working on standing b4 she can sit indep”
She made hardly any…
Physiotherapy is so much more than back pain & massage, we are a diverse profession of which all facets deserve to be appreciated
People are ignorant to the help physios provide until it’s their hour of need, please stop devaluing us - this profession is incredible
@emilyydes Good luck!! There’s usually a prioritisation Q- focus on justifying your order; assessing a deteriorating resp patient (A-E Ax); MSK/neuro Ax/Rx + Qs on Trust values/professionalism. Try be yourself & think about why YOU want the job - not the other way around :)
@ShaunLintern@thecsp Physio’s have always been on ICU & we do much more than prone - we provide early mobility in ICU, we perform airway clearance on the sickest patients & assist with ventilation weaning & much more - thank you for your support but please educate yourself properly
