Testing is crucial and important to ACL Rehab and RTS - BUT testing WITHOUT excellent clinical reasoning is not going to get your patient to where they want to be! But hey sexy tech on social medial might increase your popularity - but does it help your patients?

I see “testing is essential in ACL Rehab” plastered all over Instagram - Isn’t is important that you are able to take clinical information obtained via testing and make a good clinical decision? 🤔🤔🤔

Recent 2nd opinion pt - nervous about RTS, surgeon was happy, had “testing” done using tech, and no consideration of the swollen knee or the patient’s concerns. On Ax performance testing was good; but his ACL-RSI low. Surgeon (& pt) happy to hold off until satisfactory!!
Any insult to the Knee has consequences - whether that be a traumatic knee injury or a surgical intervention. We need to consider these consequences when planning Rehabilitation. #endaking#sportsMAP
@PhysioArmstrong@davidkpope Hi @PhysioArmstrong 👋🏽 Hope you enjoyed the episode! I tend to use Zinc Oxide, and if it is an acute sideline injury, I will use foam to pad around the malleoli to prevent effusion - you just need to make sure it is not too tight, and give your patient your standard warnings!
