@sfmcguire79 2) following that logic women are safer as domestics hidden away from bad men. The DEI/metoo movement enshrine a belief about female incapability and weakness more thoroughly than any "traditional" culture ever has.
@sfmcguire79 DEI culture objectifies women just as much, if not more, than the cultures it condemns. Rather than autonomous agents capable of making our own decisions, capable of acting in bad faith just like any man, women are to be treated as perpetual victims.
@LKrauss1@FrancesWiddows1 2) very few are willing to sacrifice themselves to challenge corrupt systems. Its a two way street with both sides relying on the other for material success and legitimacy. Faculty can wail about mistreatment then willingly submit to it to save their own hides.
@LKrauss1@FrancesWiddows1 That's a waste of the faculty members' resources and only enriches university legal/attorney networks. Better to stop reinforcing the systems entirely by quitting and working in different fields but that requires the self sacrifice of giving up prestigious positions.
@sciencewtg 2) but organisms cant escape complexity of reality. What breaks down are the formal systems that rely on these processes to maintain control/legitimacy. Society experiences breakdown of formal systems (ie corruption) but society/life is resilient and adapts for survival.
@sciencewtg Reverse evolution, rather than organisms/systems being adaptable to the environment, the environment is made adaptable to the systems. This makes systems frail and incapable of adapting to complex environments and more likely to break down when tested or challenged.
@LocasaleLab And now fear not, ye righteous, when ye see the sinners growing strong and prospering in their ways: be not companions with them, but keep afar from their violence; for ye shall become companions of the hosts of heaven. Enoch 104:6
@LocasaleLab 2) the trump administration reintroduced some of those rights in its 2020 DOE title ix only to have the Biden administration eviscerate it again. Liberals claim treating all complaints as rights unto themselves allow the voices of victims to get hijacked by bad actors.
@LocasaleLab The problem is circular. Politicians write legislation demanding universities investigate any and all complaints of misconduct while dismantling due process rights associated with those very investigations. It goes beyond universities to the very politics infesting the system.
@USTreasury 3) all the people who died from drug trade that couldn't have happened without institutions like TD Bank and Bank of America yet the government makes sure it prioritizes the survival of financial institutions over the lives of Americans, for a couple billion price tag of course.
@USTreasury 2) 5 billion dollars in suspicious activity? So the fine is a 20% take home pay while the money launders keep the other 80%? sounds like the government has a pretty sweet deal with the criminal networks. I know TD Bank is still going strong despite laundering cartel money.
@USTreasury Sounds like a big pay day for the Treasury Department. Tell me what would happen if all the money laundering ended? Would it be a hit to your take home pay because it seems like the government is more concerned with how much money it can rake in in fines than stopping crime.
@JDVance I 100% support your efforts but the moment you start throwing around "socialism" "communism" or any other "ism" you devolve from solving actual problems people identify with to out of touch abstracts. Who cares what a political system is called; fix problems stop inventing them
@Josh_Koehn The California office that really needs to be investigated is the state treasury. I guarantee they'll find eye watering public-private collusion and theft of public-private assets/taxes by all involved.
@TheJusticeDept@AGToddBlanche@EpochTimes Biden pardoned his son claiming the charges brought against Hunter were politically motivated. Joe Biden himself accused his own DOJ of being politicized and in the case of his son, weaponized. That should be more than enough to spotlight corruption but our memory is short.
@KUSINews Iran isn't going to take out southern California. Southern California is an international hub for terrorist networks so it would be nuking an ally.
@LocasaleLab 2) someone shouldn't be afforded university investigations, civil lawsuits, and criminal investigations to prosecute the same individuals for the same allegations and conduct.
@LocasaleLab There is a belief that noncriminal charges and processes are less damaging than civil. This is completely false and there needs to be some kind of double jeopardy limit on civil/administrative processes especially when they overlap with criminal charges.
