@iamkarendavila I hope more people will openly condemn this travesty. I respect and admire you for speaking up. Sana dumami pa kayo.
Never have I seen senators so shamelessly prioritize their own interests and political power over the people they are meant to serve. Nakakaiyak.
@ABSCBNNews@RG_Cruz12479 People are sick and tired of your drama. Tama na please. It’s sickening already. Wala ng naniniwala sa ‘yo. You are self-serving, greedy, and the worst.
If APC still has any sense of accountability, he should resign. For the love of G, does anyone in the Senate truly serve the public rather than themselves?
The current majority appears more focused on holding onto power than serving the people.
Hay, hirap mo mahalin Pinas.
House Republicans' budget would raise the retirement age for Social Security and slash Medicare, while they cut taxes for the very wealthy again.
I’ve got a better idea: I’ll protect Social Security and Medicare and make the very wealthy pay their fair share.
Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.
This is a side by side of two women gracing the front covers of two well known magazines.
The one on the right we all know is Martha Stewart, age 81. The one on the left is Apo Whang-Od, age 106, a tribal tattooist in a remote province in the Philippines.
There seems to be an unwritten rule which equates beauty with youngness. In an interview, Martha Stewart told the reporter she credits her organic, home-grown, farm-to-table eating, yoga, and actively healthy lifestyle to her youthfulness. While that’s an admirable journey for her, let’s not forget the amount of privilege that kind of lifestyle requires.
On the left is Apo Whang-Od, who is a 106-year-old tribal tattooist in the Philippines. The wisdom she carries in every forehead wrinkle and frown line is stunning. Her eyes are glass, reflecting back all that she’s witnessed over a century of lived experiences. Her tattoos a reminder of the ancestors she seeks to honor.
Both women are beautiful in their own right. But I wish we as women didn’t play into this idea that we have to look younger—and thinner—in order to fit some unrealistic beauty standard which will grant us acceptance and relevance in the world around us.
I’m writing this for any woman who, like me, may have had a punched-gut reaction to seeing an octogenarian in a swimsuit on the cover of a magazine looking more like a woman in her forties or fifties: Anti-aging is not a beauty standard.
There IS beauty in wrinkles, and saggy skin, and drooping breasts. These are markers of a life hard fought for and well lived. It seems odd to try and erase these battle scars.
So while I applaud Martha for her fortunate body, carefully curated procedures, and pristinely styled makeup, I also applaud Whang-Od for what others may perceive as imperfections.
Anti-aging is not a beauty standard.
Authenticity is.

BREAKING: MAGA Republican My Pillow Guy Mike Lindell just got caught in an apparent scam.
You may remember this challenge he offered back in June of 2021. He challenged anyone who wanted to come to his cyber symposium and prove that the election data that he claimed proved Trump beat Biden was actually fake. He offered $5 million to anyone who could.
Well guess what! Someone actually proved Lindell's election data was fake and he was just awarded $5 million by an arbitration panel.
Another MAGA Republican is caught lying and has to pay!
After winning full control of government for the first time in 40 years, Michigan Democrats have now passed universal background checks on all gun sales, safe storage requirements, and now a red flag law.
Don’t let anyone tell you voting doesn’t matter.
Republicans interrogating Biden’s nominee for U.S. Secretary of Labor, Julie Su, over the fact that she never ran a business is just an excuse for them to try and prevent an Asian American female from making history.
I don’t recall them caring one iota that Trump nominated Betsy DeVos as his Secretary of Education. She literally had never worked in a public school, had never been a teacher, a school administrator or served on any board of education.
Julie Su is the right woman for the job.
BREAKING: As part of Ron Desantis' Reedy Creek feud with Disney World he literally just told the press that he is analyzing whether to built a State Prison next to Disney World.
Who else finds it disgustingly ironic that the party who claims to care about children and crime, wants to now build a State prison next to an amusement park that accommodates 25 Million+ children annually, all because of childish grudge?
Young families will remember this disgusting rhetoric when the polls open in 2024.
Students at Staley High School in Kansas City, Missouri, walked out of class on Tuesday to march for Ralph Yarl, their Black classmate who was shot twice on Thursday by an 84-year-old white man after going to the wrong address to pick up his brothers.

Hate to break it to you, @elonmusk, but Dr. Anthony Fauci has more dignity, integrity, courage, and intellect than you will ever have. He has served this nation valiantly for decades. Try attacking him all you want, but you stand no chance against Dr. Fauci. Period.
