What’s happening in Gaza breaks me. I feel the pain deep in my bones. This is not about politics or ideology. It’s about humanity. About conscience. About love for life.
Since this nightmare began, I look at my 1-year-old son every morning with a mix of love and fear. And I ask myself: how can a child so small, so innocent, be targeted anywhere in this world? How can we stay silent?
Some may say Gaza is far away. That it’s not our fight. But I refuse to believe silence is an option. What we tolerate there today could reach us tomorrow.
I keep thinking of this story: a forest is on fire. All the animals run away, except a small bird flying back and forth with drops of water in its beak, trying to put out the flames. A snake mocks him: “You think that’ll change anything?” The bird replies, “I’m doing my part.”
