This is not your regular PAP’s post.
Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day & we need to say something that’s been sitting heavy.
Menstruation is still treated like a TABOO.
Still causing shame in the bodies of young girls who are just trying to understand what is happening to them.
Handler is Tired.
Volunteers are Exhausted..
The country is messing with everybody from donors to volunteers to admin, so we’re taking an e-break till the end of the month.
Please send us a message, subscribe to our substack and DONATE A PAD TODAY.🩷
Lastly, PERIOD POVERTY is a thing. As an individual, buy a girl a PAD or 2.
Donate 1 or 2 PADS to related organizations.
Tell people to tell people about organizations like this to help us going.
Volunteer! Volunteer!! Volunteer!!!
See you in June.
From us at @pick_a_pad, THANK YOU.
while we’re here for free sanitary pads, no menstrual awareness session was held, which slightly defeats the purpose of the day.
the day is not only about providing Pads but also about breaking stigma, and encouraging open conversations.⬇️
That said, every outreach, whether big or small, teaches us something and equips us to do better next time.
And to schools: can we be more open to initiatives like these? They provide little and vital opportunities to educate, support, and empower young girls.💗
Menstrual justice is not charity. It is dignity. It is healthcare. It is freedom.
Across Africa, girls, women and all people who menstruate are still pushed out of classrooms, workplaces and public life because of stigma, shame, poverty and systems that refuse to prioritize our bodies. We reject that violence.
This #MenstrualHealthDay, we are not asking for permission to speak about periods. We are demanding a world where menstrual health is treated as a human rights and feminist justice issue.
Because no one should bleed in silence.
No one should miss school, opportunities or safety because they menstruate.
Menstrual justice is feminist justice.
Thank you to the girls who always have extra pads in their purses and to the girls who help us check if we're stained.
Happy Menstrual hygiene day to youuu!
Menstrual health is a human right, not a privilege. 🌸
This Menstrual Hygiene Day, let’s break the stigma, promote education, and support every girl with dignity and confidence.

You can afford to give what, 200-500 packs per quarter, but you want to sell pad.
Despite period poverty running rampage in this part of the world.
I’m so deeply annoyed.
We hope that by this time next year, Pick A Pad has moved at least one or two inches closer to what we’re building towards and that no girl has to feel alone in this, and no one who wants to help her has to fight this hard just to get in the door.
Talk about PERIODs TODAY.🩸

Menstruation is still treated like a TABOO.

The economy is in shambles, Prices of PADs are climbing.
Our donors are stretched thin because of the same economy.
So this weekend, PAP is going to the market and streets to do the little we can because young girls still need PADS whether or not the naira cooperates.
Your period should never cost you your education or dignity!
Many women face this reality. On World Menstrual Health Day, we emphasize that this is not just a hygiene issue, but a public health and human dignity concern.
Let’s break the silence 🤍

“The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe. And I'm beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this is incapable of morality.”
Happy children's day to the children of the world. May we always strive to make it better for you. 🩷
We are set for an outreach on the 28th of this month in celebration of #MenstrualAwarenessDay and we need your donations to make it a success.
