@ZER0C001111@coolerkdawg@Jon_Finkel@Jerry_C__ I’m not pretending they don’t exist, they bastardised the Marvel films into the ground and Thor became a fucking laughable parody of himself but I just don’t agree with the assessement that the same has happened in this case.
@ZER0C001111@coolerkdawg@Jon_Finkel@Jerry_C__ Personally I think you’re jaded and pessimistic, not without due cause, Hollywood has been spitting out garbage for 20 years. This movie was engaging and had a lot of spirit, open your heart to the possibility of fun.
@ZER0C001111@coolerkdawg@Jon_Finkel@Jerry_C__ It’s a heroes Journey, the message of the film is to get behind yourself, every new experience by Adam is met with imperfect trial>error>success. His willingness to try, fail, succeed directly strengthens the people around him. This is not how Ragnarok played out
@ZER0C001111@coolerkdawg@Jon_Finkel@Jerry_C__ Except he’s not treated as a doofus, they go to a great effort to show his strength and fortitude in the face of evil, the penultimate fight begins with him rallying the troops with a speech inspired by Dolph Lundgrens character and followed by a fight to the death with skeletor
@superswimteam7 He-Man isn’t defined by sword and sorcery, it exists in a merging of Sci-Fi, S&S, and Military fiction. I’d actually recommend She-Ra over He-Man for its stronger focus on Sci-Fi and Horror. The Secret Of The Sword film is closer to A New Hope and Flash Gordon.
@bhnorris@mrbanana2078952@BlazeBinges I’m surprised that you fundamentally misunderstood the film, randors final words are about raising his son to be strong because life is too hard to be weak, in the final battle with Skeletor he tries to talk to him and it doesn’t work so they have a real battle?
@FellerYeller I couldn’t begin to imagine how painful life would be if I had a passion for any other 80s franchise IP, nothing but pure slop for the past 20 years besides evil dead which I also enjoy
