🚨Gems Of WB Police

A 15-year-old Scheduled Caste girl from a poor family went missing on the night of 10th May 2026 from Mayureswar, Birbhum. Her father immediately went to the police station the next day, but Mayureswar PS refused to register an FIR for this serious cognizable offence under BNS Section 137 (kidnapping a minor from lawful guardianship).
Only after I repeatedly followed up and highlighted the matter did they register the FIR — yet they still haven’t given the father a copy immediately. I also shared the number from which the girl called his father for last time. The accused boy who lured and took the minor girl stays in New Town, Kolkata, I contacted Newtown PS, but New Town PS also refused to register the case. WB Women’s Helpline also said PS where FIR filed, they’ll take care of it.
Today when I called for updates, the IO and Officer-in-Charge of Mayureswar PS gave cold, diplomatic answers and refused to share any progress.
A missing minor SC girl from a poor family is being treated so casually.
