You could imagine he's never left the island before or he's back for a vacation exploring places he's never been :D
One thing we didn't want is to give Sonic an "origin" story. I feel it's best if Sonic just is who he is imo

I love Mania and Galactic as well but yes we are leaning into the Sega Saturn aesthetic and vibes because we love them and it's perfect for the game :3 ✨
