@GergelyOrosz Interesting that they had only one source! When I was in the electronics business, ensuring sourcing at all times was a top priority and East Asian manufacturers tend to be into speedy execution
@levelsio Now you did read about "unfortunate events" happening to Russian journalists and Gershkovich being imprisoned didn't you? If not then go and do a bit of reading
@penberg I think interviewing from the interviewers side is just about how much time they want to spend: spend a lot of time and learn about a candidate properly. Spend less time and throw a canned assignment to them. Similarly candidates with good opportunities can just skip the latter
@GergelyOrosz One of the nice side effects here is that these investments boosted the industry as a whole (though often governments end up subsidizing poorly)
@dieworkwear Great thread! There are so many options out there. Personally I tend to lean toward sanforized Levi's because they're convenient, inexpensive and come in a variety of models some of will fit me and look good. But raw denim is pretty cool and I dislike preworn, so there's that
@anders_aslund@dieworkwear It's a good question and a consumer might value more robust labor and environmental protection of certain countries. From the producer side it could offer more control and speed over the production chain. But it all assumes that quality is at least similar or better
@GergelyOrosz Satellites make sense only for sparsely populated areas due to the high fixes costs and then the question is are those customers ready to pay enough to mKe it profitable. I haven’t been in the telco space for over a decade, but the profitability equation is fundamentally hard
@dieworkwear Got to give Anton credit though: while my tastes aren't nearly as conservative, he does advocate for aesthetically sound outfits and Gorka's sartorial choices that your present here go from bad to terrible
@dieworkwear Others answered the bit about costs, but really having better photos (straight, natural angle of view, same vantage point) would help the comparison as well as seeing the final design. In clothes, good lighting and poses do wonders in presenting the aesthetics and same goes here
Opportunity cost is a foreign concept to most people, including those who think of themselves as highly educated.
If you think too much effort is being spent on helping Ukraine now, you're going to be shocked by the inescapable costs incurred if they lose.
@levelsio Agreed. We have the technology to fix this, so should use it. Went to China earlier this year and there has been a huge improvement in the past decade due to systematic work on the issue
@GergelyOrosz I was about a year ago deciding whether to use said provider or an alternative, had some top devs spend a couple of days doing assessments, took the alternative and have had excellent returns. So agree with your advice, adding that alternatives can save a lot of money
The US election's economic message to #Europe is crystal clear:
It is even more urgent for Europe to implement structural reforms to enhance productivity and growth.
The recently issued #Draghi report provides political leaders with a roadmap.

Evidence: People were randomly assigned to unfollow accounts that spewed hostility, hyperpartisan views, and low-quality information.
6 months later, they had significantly higher well-being and lower outgroup animosity.
@levelsio Due to market inertia and still a solid position in their key moneymaking segments they still have time. But the main problem from my PoV is that their product offering is muddy and they have many quality issues and problems to deliver
@dieworkwear These questions tend to miss the budget (and there is always a budget). For $1000 it's always off the rack, but a few tailor adjustments are not that expensive.
