ANNOUNCE TRAILER for my first game: Eternal Siege.
Last year I started self-learning with no programming/gamedev XP. After spending 10+ hours a day Im finally almost done my first solo project and excited to show this trailer!

Lately there have been way too many videos on Youtube praying on the downfall of every single thing they can get their eyes on, I wanted to make something different. This took 40 hours to make, hoping at least someone enjoys it <3

@SamolonXD Zero stutters make games pleasant to play without frame gen, and if users want to use frame gen, zero stutters also improve that!
Developers should never rely on frame gen for performance. It should be an optional feature that users can enable.
I'm getting used in a bunch of examples about this so I wanted to make my stance on this really clear:
@ARCRaidersGame PvPvE is amazing. I would change nothing about it. I love the KOS players. I love the extract campers. I love the betrayals. I even love the grievers!
... wait, what?
Yes. The gameplay loop in Arc Raiders is so special because you never know what to expect! That's the SPICE! It makes all those friendly encounters mean so much more. It makes the experience richer and more varied. Do I like getting extract camped? Hate it. Do not like. Griefed? Betrayed? Same thing. Just hate it. But I know exactly what I'm getting into playing a PvPvE game.
My expectations are managed. Eyes wide open to the risk.
And all that makes all those friend, big group encounters so much more INTERESTING!
Anyway, loving the game. It's something special. Don't worry about losing your gear. Smile and laugh it off. Bosses in Elden Ring feel so much better to best after they've kicked your ass for a bit. Getting killed in PvPvE games is the exact same thing.
Go get em'.
I am sending this a bit late but I just updated my free demo for the Steam next fest, I worked hard on this for almost 2 years and it would mean a lot if you could check it out. It is a tower defense game inspired by the Ancient TD scenario from AOE2 https://t.co/QQENQD5Jxq

@theredpix Very interesting and great catch! I rewatched the video I linked you and it seems the big overhead of BP is per function. Having a lot of BP on the tick and converting it to C++ should definitely help with performance (as your test showed)
Is there no penalty for game developers intentionally lying about AI disclosure on @Steam?
1. A recently released game has super obvious AI generated voice acting (and images). There is no AI disclosure on the Steam page.
2. Someone wrote a review and brought up the obvious AI generated voice acting. The dev ACKNOWLEDGES it and explains that they had "no money" for a voice actor (even though they made an estimated half a million dollars from their previous title - voice acting wouldve cost them $1-2k for the recent title).
3. After pressure and negative responses, the next day the developer deletes their response, then finally adds an AI disclosure on their Steam page.
4. Next day the developer replies to the reviewer again, bashing them for "accusing" them of using AI. They later deleted their second response and also the AI disclosure is gone from their Steam page as well.
Meanwhile I am playing fair with my own game, I have no-AI disclosure because Ive chosen not to use AI. It feels like a losing battle because these cheaters abuse the system and get away with no penalty...
People are purchasing games that contain AI content, while the games claim no AI content....There seems to be no way to succeed anywhere in this world without lying, cheating, or stealing...it is so sick.
More than a decade later, Twitch is finally cracking down on viewbotting...But dont get fooled, they arent doing it "because its right", but probably because advertising companies complained and threatened to pull out if Twitch does nothing about it.
