Steven Spielberg's #DisclosureDay, is an oddity. Each of his films is an event - thrilling, exciting, magical, with the obligatory, compelling #JohnWilliams soundtrack. His latest builds gently, but the final payoff is dazzling, poignant and moving. Marvel at his genius! X
Tuner' is a delightful offbeat film about a piano tuner. Full of jazz, classical, Dustin Hoffman, Jean Reno, er, need I say more? Well worth seeing and one of my choices for films of the year. Brutal, though, let's not forget that. X
@CrimsonPKing@Glinner Tidal is fantastic! Not tried Q. Spotify is overhyped nonsense and doesn't reward artists fairly. And who wants to play in Apple's walled garden? Bounced out of there years ago! No regrets.
Paul Thomas Anderson's #OneBattleAfterAnother is a revelation. A radically offbeat, wholly immersive film across 161 minutes, once you get over the 'WTF is this?' opener. Fantastic music and top performances. New film of the year! It stays with you. Absolutely essential. X
True story. Saw The Waterboys play Aston Triangle in Brum back in October 1985. Superb! Some 3 years earlier, Dennis Hopper attended the same venue, a well-known arthouse cinema, hosted by my late friend Pete Walsh. Said they had a blast. #hopperlisteningparty
Iβm sorry but all these joke candidates are deeply unfunny and make a mockery of our electoral systemβ¦ but anyway enough about Rees Mogg, how did baked bean head man get on
#Singapore is a fantastic place to visit. What is striking is how welcoming it is at the airport, the diverse and outlandish architecture, the greenery, the selection of food from hawker markets, ice cold Tiger beer, and the friendly and exceptional approach to customer service.
Donald Sutherland RIP. One of the greats. Wonderful in 'Don't Look Now" and many of his other roles. Had that 'je ne sais quoi.' Just great screen presence.
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.
Tragic news about Michael Mosley. He was such an important figure both on and off screen in the BBC science unit, and as a mentor to many of us when we started out in science presenting. And, as many of our colleagues have already said on here, he was a genuinely lovely man. So sorry for his family. RIP Michael.
#Eric from creator Abi Morgan is a deep multi-faceted story with a high emotional impact. #BenedictCumberbatch is at the top of his game as puppeteer Vincent. You'll get completely hooked on this @netflix series! 5 star brilliance. Wow, just wow! X
