@chug3345@francesca_kms The fact you see using a bike as a hobby says a lot. What really IS selfish and entitled is one person in a car expecting to be able to drive from any point A to any point B in an already congested city with no consequence. Surely you see that, with your 53 yrs work experience?
@JohnJohnStewart It has been demonstrated repeatedly across the globe that building safe cycling infra induces further demand. Tell me that is a bad thing! What does it matter that WN inflates a few stats, other than to enrage our information overlords and their frothing dinosaur acolytes?
@roadcc It's what happens when a business continually offers large discounts to customers, resulting in a wafer-thin profit margin. Add to that the cost of free shipping...It's not a healthily sustainable model, and will continue to damage many businesses, as it regularly has done.
@MalcolmBacchus@transportgovuk A lovely Dutch ebike addresses many of your highlighted issues, as shown by millions of smartly dressed commuters in Europe. Not sure how you would do your homework though...
@transportgovuk I do, but I'm lucky I have a quiet route and I'm fit and healthy enough to do it. Many people fit and healthy enough, do not do it simply out of fear. The govt does not value any transport mode other than the car. Shown explicitly by PM and cuts to mass & active travel funding.
@BillyS2401@theJeremyVine Hmmm.... in my 40 years of riding in groups of roadies (lycra louts, if you must...) I've never seen 4 abreast. How many riders were there in total, in your estimation? 4, 8, 12...? How many in your vehicle?
@QuinlanQuinlan @magnatom But, these cyclist actions you see loads of present statistically negligible risk to others, no risk to environment, and add fewer cars contributing to MOTORISTS' traffic problem. Which is worse?
@Angry_Golfer91 @magnatom But, these cyclist actions you see loads of present statistically negligible risk to others, no risk to environment, and add fewer cars contributing to YOUR traffic problem. Tough to comprehend...
@NealOKelly @AndyCoxDCS Yeah, terrible country; they got it all wrong with their transport policies didn't they? Now they are suffering the consequences; high happiness rating, good health, strong economy. Active travel really kills a place...
