I used to treat this verse like a comfort quote.
It isn’t.
Most people quote Lamentations 3:37 like it is a soft verse about timing.
It is not.
It was written in a city that had already fallen.
Temple gone.
Streets ruined.
Prayers unanswered.
Then this question:
“Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?”
Meaning:
no king’s threat,
no enemy’s plan,
no desperate promise you made to yourself
has final power.
If God did not command it, it cannot stand.
If He did command it, no silence can cancel it.
That is not a verse for forcing doors.
It is a verse that breaks the illusion that you were ever in control.
The wait does not rule you.
The no does not rule you.
The wreckage does not rule you.
Only the One who speaks and it comes to pass.
Lord, let no word stand in my life except Yours.
Amen.

What’s the correct answer?
A little girl suddenly ran into traffic on Avenida 11 Sur in Puebla, Mexico.
A woman tried to catch her but fell. As a vehicle approached, a nearby store employee immediately rushed in, grabbed the girl, and pulled her out of the vehicle’s path.
Both fell during the rescue, but thankfully, the girl was unharmed and safely reunited with her family. ❤️
