Jacob Tierney was right to have Shane leave with Rose and have that intimate scene instead of leaving the club crying. As much as it’s uncomfortable to watch it’s necessary to show Shane’s desperate need to regain control over his life and try to convince himself he can still have this version of heterosexual normalcy after becoming emotionally vulnerable with Ilya during tuna melt. It also shows how despite being physically with Rose he is emotionally disconnected and that contrast of how he was earlier with Ilya.
