We set up a wildlife camera where we’re prepping the ground for a new hedge, curious to see what birds turned up for the berries and bugs we left or unearthed. Sure enough, they arrived, pecking and poking like a casual buffet. It’s remarkable how fast nature cashes in.

Officers at @SouthCambs continue to recommend against protecting Coton Orchard’s Ancient Bramley Trees, prioritising the Lib/Lab-led council’s busway plans despite TEMPO guidelines confirming they “definitely merit” protection.

Thanks to @Cllr_H_Williams—who stepped in despite Coton not being her ward—the issue will now be debated in committee. She emphasised that such decisions should be made by elected councillors, not behind closed doors through delegation, without scrutiny or accountability.
