So tired of these takes. I’ll leave my ego at the door and de escalate all day long. Would rather my family go home safe.
And if your life really, truly gets threatened then that is why you should have a concealed carry.
And.. if you’re in areas where that’s a real possibility… you shouldn’t be there without protection. Martial arts won’t save you when the other guy has a gun or when it’s 3-4 guys.
You don’t need a heart rate monitor for zone 2.
Just breath strictly through your nose and get to the point that you almost need to breath with your mouth.
That’s the sweet spot
@roccaJ21 You’ve built your body into such a temple of perfection and longevity that it will now reject this and give you the shits for the next fortnight
Another one I see a lot on here especially with the rise in popularity of jiu jitsu is how guys should be training martial arts to be prepared.
Training martial arts is great for a variety of reasons but this isn’t one of them. Personally I wish I’d wrestled growing up and think there’s a ton of benefits, especially for young boys.
But if you are doing it to be prepared for a street fight? C’mon man this is the dumbest take in the world.
Yeah- if you train martial arts I’m sure you could beat me up. The thing is that I’m going to de escalate, de escalate, and continue to de escalate any situation I’m in until I’m out of it safely. This will protect me and my family first and foremost. Call me a pussy all you want but I’m happy to leave my ego at the door if it means my wife is safe.
Then guess what? If someone truly threatens your life? That’s why you train and carry a gun. It’s the world we live in unfortunately.
Training martial arts is awesome. But if you’re doing it because you think it’s good for self defense and you don’t have a concealed carry that you train with consistently you’re just being foolish.
@bowtiedmeathead Not enough people point out the fact that poorly managed trt on top of a shitty lifestyle is where your problems get compounded as well
I’ve always loved how forward the science has been in the bodybuilding community.
Guys willing to test just about anything and put out their n=1 data and that’s why so many in the community have been so far ahead of the mainstream.
But on X these days there’s way too much one size fits all and what’s even worse is the posturing behind it.
If someone enjoys the gym, more power to them. But for a lot of beginners and people trying to get into shape that may not be the case. Bench press, barbell squats and deadlifts are great, but they aren’t end all/be all when it comes to building muscle. If you desire to be a bodybuilder or a powerlifter then yeah you’re gonna need them and I’m not knocking them.
But for so many average joes I wouldn’t call it “necessary”. Plenty of strength for longevity, endurance and basic fitness can be built without the gym and for so many people they’d be better off taking a simpler route than trying to force something that won’t stick.
It all gets so cultish unfortunately and everyone wants to piss on anyone not in their cult.
There’s a thousand ways to skin a cat folks.
Doing a year sober and will drink these or athletic na beers usually, or go with the classic soda water and a lime.
Have had multiple interactions at the end of the night where someone mentions how well I handle my alcohol lol
Most people really have no clue and frankly don’t care either. Took a bit to get used to but honestly enjoy going out more now as well
Planned a 12 week course of oral bpc157 (500mcg on an empty stomach) to improve gut health- specifically an intolerance to high histamine foods.
Stopped after 4 weeks due to an obvious increase in moles, though I did see a slight improvement in histamine tolerance.
Is this a common report you’ve seen and any ideas on preventing it?
Would’ve liked to finish the full 12 weeks.
@DTC_Quizbuilder Checked out pawchamp, madmuscles and liven. These are all pretty long quizzes.
How many questions are you using with dtc stores to prevent drop off?
Just used bpc personally with the goal of gut repair. Have had some histamine issues I’m trying to deal with.
Planned to do 12 weeks total but stopped after 4 because I started having new moles pop up all over. Definitely improved my digestion and histamine tolerance a bit but wish I could’ve run it for the full 12 weeks.
@NickCrane27@maxlugavere I mix mine in and it firms up the yogurt to a very nice consistency similar to ice cream, and the berries soften up a bit as well.
I’d say if ice cream bothers your teeth this would be an issue as well but it’s not as cold as straight frozen berries.
I think this ties right into fitting your routine to you lifestyle and not the other way around.
Too many people just recommend a one size fits all approach and it becomes too much of a grind to maintain if it’s not the right fit.
Lots of people would be better off doing less consistently than trying something new for two weeks every few months
