Happy birthday, @BarackObama! 65 never looked better. Every day, you make me a better person, and I’m thankful for all the ways you show up for our family and our country. Love you. ❤️
My position still remains the same . Tourist BUY their own international cover before visiting Kenya.
Can we FOCUS on sorting out our public hospitals . Imagine tourists don't need our help on matters health. Their insurance will send them to Aga Khan, MP Shah and Nairobi Hospital etc al.
A petition has been filed at the High Court seeking the removal of Health CS Aden Duale over alleged ethnic incitement and violation of leadership standards
I've heard Professor Ndungu's views on Ruto overrunning government institutions. I experienced it firsthand when I was the Chair of IPOA while he was the Deputy President - Former IPOA Chair Macharia Njeru
Ruto’s Special National Address felt so random and forced. You listen carefully, waiting for substance, but there’s no depth, no value, no direction. Just a lot of words that amount to nothing. Pure nonsense
It almost feels like this administration needed something to dominate the headlines because the numbers are down. Total waste of time
Fellow citizens…WANTAM!
Ruto just spent 40 minutes trying to create a false equivalence between our national values set out in the constitution and his so called “development”. Kenyans, please trust me when i tell you there is a reason the Preamble comes before Article 43. You don’t get to the “development “ clauses until and unless you have taken into account the reasons we passed this constitution in the first place. Democracy, Human Rights, Freedom, Equality, Rule of Law and Social Justice.
We took the @LindaMwananchi_ gospel of opposition unity to the SKM centre this afternoon. Wiper leader @skmusyoka has assured us that we shall work together to deliver a decisive victory against the current regime in August 2027.
#RutoMustGo
IEBC should be told that we are in 2026.
They should be told we are in the era of technology & AI.
This is not 2002 & this is not 90s.
On election day, we will be live on YouTube, Tiktok, X & Facebook.
We will broadbacast results on all platforms.
They should be told that as from 5th, that is when we will start camping at the polling stations.
We will be everywhere. Ruto has to be a one term president.
2027 elections will be very personal to all Kenyans. Very personal. Very personal.
Speaking during a development cooperation conference in Sweden, former CBK Governor Njuguna Ndung'u said Kenya's President has overrun state institutions, leaving officials to comply out of fear.
Former National Treasury CS, Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u, says whereas institutions in Kenya have the capacity to do the right thing, "the current President overruns all the institutions and that is why everybody in those institutions will have to conform, for fear"
Kenya kwisha supporters expected Edwin Sifuna to do what Ruto does, make grand promises that border on outright lies… “In 6 months time, I will give free diapers, free phone calls, free internet, build 1,000 dams and water pans, create millions of jobs overnight, build tens of stadiums across the country etc.”
Sifuna chose a different path. Instead of promising miracles, he is promising to fix what is broken in our country by building a government that listens to its people, respects the rule of law, upholds democratic values, inspires investor confidence, creates opportunity and dignity for all and protects the life and rights of every Kenyan (“We will not kill our young people, no one will be arrested for tweeting, we will not teargas churches”)
As he aptly puts it, “We in Linda Mwananchi are software engineers.”
In other words, instead of making unrealistic promises about the hardware, he will first fix the software that runs the system.
The first commitment is to cut wasteful public expenditure and eliminate extravagance in government. The savings should then be used to ease the burden on ordinary Kenyans, particularly by reducing the burden of taxation.
Sifuna acknowledges that prosperity does not begin with grand campaign promises, but with good governance. He also readily acknowledges that no leader can be an expert in everything or know everything. That is why he is committed to listening to the people, and also to experts, professionals and practitioners across different sectors to develop practical solutions that will move Kenya forward.
Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has gone to court to challenge a law that protects the IMF and World Bank from being sued in Kenya.
He argues that the IMF and World Bank should be held accountable in Kenyan courts instead of being protected by law.
Members of Parliament are openly confessing how they took bribes to undertake a constitutional process & yet nothing will happen to them. No inquiries. No investigations. Nothing. In fact, even journalists interviewing them are laughing about it like it is a joke. I give up!
