@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 seriously reconsider using them if I lived there because shitposting online would be simply not worth the risk. I'd move somewhere else, though.
@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 >When was the last time humanity achieved 100% compliance on something
It's not 100% compliance, but risk/reward. IIRC, the UK arrests 12000 people/year for online speech. If they started handing out sentences for using VPNs at the same rate, I'd ➡️
@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 If you don't believe my posts, and can try torrenting child porn and measure the time until the police raid. The government is perfectly capable of tracking online activities and prosecuting them.
//don't actually do this unless you want to spend a few years in prison
@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 gets detected and blacklist.
- The law enforcement requests the ISP to disclose users who have connected to the detected address.
- You get a 6am visit by the local police.

Hahaha. BBC(though the idea of a broadcaster doing surveillance is ridiculous on is own) have had TV detector vans for 70 years. They'll just adjust target radio frequency range➡️
@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 >ahead of blacklisted IPs
That's not enough. If the UK implements something like Yarovaya package(see the surveillance part of the article), they'll have a copy of your traffic for the past N months and the ability to query that data. Having a➡️

@blex1_@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 If they outlaw it, the number of users is going to drop rapidly, and then they can do a few show trials to scare those who don't comply.
Also, people get fined for torrenting things, even though there're millions of users.
@hnkmephisto@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 > Soo, there's no way for a third party that tries to trace you to actually locate you
You're thinking about it the wrong way. Your ISP already knows who and where exactly you are, and when they detect an outgoing VPN connection, they'll just report you to the police.
@loveaissu Зачем их избирать? Существует страна с русскими управленцами — Россия. Остальные едут в страну, где управляют американцы/французы/немцы/финны/швейцарцы, чтобы жить хорошо.
@sl4ng19@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 > There will always be ways to mask your VPN traffic.
If they make using VPN a felony, you'll get detected once and then spend the next few years in jail.
In fact, you can replace "VPN" with "child porn" as an example of an actively suppressed cybercrime and get the idea.
@FreiheitWende@GlobalDiss@Insanit123 They'll force the ISPs to have DPI and make using VPNs/Tor a crime, so the users who got flagged by their ISP will get raided by the police.
