really disturbing how little people seem to be reacting to the human trafficking concentration camps. a congresswoman showed up to try to inspect one of them and ICE attacked her and are trying to put her in prison for 17 years about it. yall are the germans that "didnt know"
@MatthewP279348@colin_fraser The repeating decimal is a duct-tapped solution to resolve the issue of trying to do thirds in a base 10 system with just decimals and not fractions. There is no difference between 0.33 repeating and 1/3
@colin_fraser There are two paths for them. They're either going to:
1.) learn that decimal base notation has resolution limits.
2.) become a quack and design a holy number system divined from the very blueprint of God (learn that you can use other bases and use one with a factor of 3)
@FPWellman Also, to folks freaking out about "batteries" costing a lot. We're not talking about 18650 arrays here. There're multiple storage mediums from cryo-air to electrolytic flow batteries. There're a couple dozen different ways to store grid scale energy that we're already deploying
@FPWellman I'm not going to hold it against the average comment or for not knowing about various energy storage methods we already have commercial trial plants for.
But the guy in the interview is both a grifter and a fucking idiot.
@biggestjoel@esjesjesj Specifically that the voiceover at the end sounds like the an ouncer from Halo, which features the UNSC who are a fascist regime.
In this essay I will-
@ArkamKage@plipplopOo If it's a ThinkPad/Station, you're out of luck
If it's one of their gaming SKUs (like Legion, etc) it should have it under an advanced or overclocking tab in the BIOS
Iirc, you just need to spam F2 as soon as you turn the laptop off. Make sure you fill shutdown the system first
@wizardalakazam@ZacksJerryRig@philtrades123 Correct. But this has been the MO (reducing tax to "expand the pie") for almost a century. Has spending been out of control since JFK? Under literally every president? Or how about every other nation that has implemented this policy?
The argument doesn't hold water empirically
@wizardalakazam@ZacksJerryRig@philtrades123 Globally, the pie has been expanding with taxes trending lower and lower for almost a century.
And yet, we keep hearing that the taxes are too high to grow the pie every single election cycle.
So which is it?
@WillQee@Acyn There's also kinetic and gravity batteries, as well as pressure differential batteries that are in development as well. There's a lot of options for renewables. Maybe not for baseloads like nuclear and hydro are suited for. But it's not like no one knows how to solve this problem
@WillQee@Acyn This shit has been figured out and is starting to roll out commercially
Exists but is expensive & regional
1.) Pumped Hydro
2.) Conventional battery banks
In commercial trials
3.) Cryogenic air storage
4.) Electrolytic Flow Batteries
5.) High temperature thermal batteries
@VarmaWarrior @PierrePoilievre You do realize we only make up 0.5% of the world's population. Which means we are producing carbon pollution at a factor of 4 per capita. Whereas China only produces at a factor of 2. If we had the population of China we'd be responsible for over half the world's carbon emissions
