🦆🐰Hello, Vigue Thailand. 🦆 We are #KengNamping .
THE BOY’S LOVE PHENOMENON
🐰 BL series have become a space, I can showcase my acting and express my dedication to this craft.
🐰 Beyond allowing me to pursue something I truly enjoy, these also give me the opportunity to be part of a movement that represents gender diversity, tells the stories of different people & identities.
🐰 By doing so, it helps normalize diversity, make it part of everyday life. I think that’s a very valuable opportunity.
🦆 I feel similarly, this is a space that is very open, welcoming to everyone. At the end of the day, actors come into this industry cuz we want to do what we love.
🦆 At the same time, we can also help people see that BL is simply about love, something that anyone can share, regardless of gender.
🦆 Just as Nong ( #nampingster ) said, we want to normalize these things so they can be viewed as naturally as any other part of life.
LIFE AFTER A BOY’S LOVE SERIES
🦆 In terms of my personal life, I don’t feel that much has changed. I still live life as usual.
🦆 What has changed is I’ve been given many more opportunities. I get to work on a wide of projects, I have more fans, more people are paying attention.
🦆 Because of that, I feel I need to carry myself more carefully and responsibly.
🐰 For me, quite a lot has changed, especially in terms of becoming more widely recognized.
🐰 Once our work reached broader audiences, not just BL fans, I was honestly surprised by how many different groups of people came to know me.
🐰 Sometimes when I walk through a local market, people recognize me.
With more visibility comes all kinds of feedback, positive, constructive, sometimes that doesn’t really have much substance.
🐰 When all of that comes, one of the challenges as an ordinary young person is learning how to deal with it.
🐰 I try to focus on the useful, feedback that can help improve myself, my work.
🐰 I’m also learning to strengthen my mindset and emotional. I choose to focus on my goals, on the people I care about, on my fans, on how I can continue improving my work moving forward.
WHAT EQUALITY ISSUES NEED MORE ATTENTION IN THAILAND?
🦆 I believe that Thai talents have incredible value, not only actors in BL industry, but also makeup artists, stylists, managers, everyone working behind the scenes.
🦆 I really want more people to recognize and appreciate that.
As I’ve worked more, met more people, and had the chance to see more of the world, I’ve realized that our industry is second to none.
🦆 Everyone has their own unique value, they simply need the opportunity and spotlight to shine.
🦆 I hope people will continue supporting this industry that everyone’s hard work can truly be rewarded and recognized.
🐰 I feel that we still lack is stronger support for Thai creativity, especially for people working in artistic and creative fields behind the scenes. Whether it’s visual arts, animation, design, or any profession that relies on creativity, there is still not enough serious support.
🐰 When society doesn’t value these fields enough, many talented people hesitate to pursue them professionally. I can relate to that myself.
🐰 Back then, I was afraid to study in an art cuz I had always been told that “if you study art, you’ll end up poor.”
🐰 We often see incredibly beautiful artwork on Tiktok, sell for only 150 or 300 THB. Honestly, that’s quite heartbreaking.
🐰 If Thailand placed greater importance on the arts, valued artistic work more, gave more recognition to the people creating it, I truly believe our creative, artistic industries could compete on a global level.
🐰 The quality of Thai work is already meticulous, detailed, and world class.
What we need now is stronger support from both the public and private sectors, and from society.
🐰 I hope more people in Thailand will begin to recognize and appreciate the value of creative and artistic professions.
