Weaknesses of the Articles EXPOSED! Ss analyzed 4 issues the new gov't faced & determined if it's solution was a success/failure. Each time a weakness was exposed they removed a block from the tower representing the gov't. Inspired by @MrRoughton#sschat https://t.co/EVBLHh5o6v
@brewerSS_nikki@historysandoval@MrPeckHistoryWS @moler3031 I used this Jamestown simulation game today to introduce my Colonial America unit. Ss make decisions in small groups. Use poker chips to track each colony's population, wealth, and relations. Led to good discussions & Ss seemed to enjoy it. https://t.co/bV87bwqF1U
โ Have students identify which person is a Federalist/Anti-Federalist, โ What concerns did the Anti-Federalist express in the text exchange? โ How did the Federalist address those concerns โ What did the Federalist promise in order to secure support for ratification?
Here is a fictional conversation via text message between George Mason and Alexander Hamilton that might be helpful in a lesson about the ratification of the Constitution.

Ss analyze the complex relationship between English colonists & Native Americans in this #ushistory#hyperdocs using Squanto's biography, Wampanoag/Pilgrim treaty, & Metacom's complaints about the English colonists. #socialstudies#sschat#historyteacher https://t.co/gdvoF1aHkQ
@DHelmEDU @MrMeehanHistory @historysandoval@MrsPateHistory @mrsbyarshistory That is a great question...I'm 2 weeks out from the AofC. Perhaps the T removes the blocks from the Jenga tower. The goal of the class is to expose the weaknesses of the AofC and make the tower tumble. You get a T vs S competitive vibe. ???
@MrMeehanHistory @historysandoval@MrsPateHistory @mrsbyarshistory @DHelmEDU Here is the link, just in case you want to try it after teaching the weaknesses of the articles of confederation

@MrMeehanHistory @historysandoval@MrsPateHistory @mrsbyarshistory @DHelmEDU Last yr my class used a Jenga tower to represent the Articles of Confed. Ss focused on 4 issues & had to determine if the Confederation gov't proposed solution was a success/failure. If it was a failure they removed one block from the Jenga tower for each weakness they exposed.
VP Debate Bingo Cards. I'm almost certain it won't be as entertaining as the presidential debate...but definitely important considering Trump is 74 and Biden is 77. Enjoy!
