@MrDavidScales I get the idea but I’m in EYFS sitting at a desk isn’t a thing down here… I do sit on tiddly chairs deigned for 5 year olds though, not sure that fancy standing up thing would solve that problem though.
@RogersHistory I’m required to have certain subject boards.. As an EYFS teacher I do get frustrated at bible quotes I have to have on the RE display that only 1 kid would be able to decode.. but I did eventually win the argument to not use the awful cursive font in my room. To there’s That.
Sitting in a meeting in a classroom and squinting at displays with working walls and lots of cursive font and thinking this is too much like hard work… wondering if kids can actually read this stuff from their seats and if they can’t, what is the point..
@MichaelRosenYes No mask, the guidance says not to but I don’t think anyone would stop me if I felt I had too. I teach Reception. I dont wear sunglasses in school because some children are discouraged from communicating with me - I feel a mask would be the same.
@SarahOgden2345@CensoredHead Yeah. Fitting them all in has be tricky - we’ve had to borrow tables! I have a year 1/R class and there will be far more Yr 1 than R. I don’t think I would have been asked to do it it if the balance was the other way.
@CensoredHead It breaks my heart and stomps on every EYFS training I’ve ever had but we are finding ways to make it work. I’ve even been asked to put the forward facing desks in.. which mean there isn’t really room for continuous as it was.
@CensoredHead I’ve been thinking this! The advice I’ve been asked to follow is if you can’t clean it, isolate it for 72hrs at the end of the day. My toys are on rotation, my areas are arranged to give more space and no soft furnishings. Even my lovely wicker baskets are put away for now.
@clfr21 Having said that it was only this year after teaching for 20 years that I fully realised how frustrating writing on a wipe board is for a left hander! Watching her write a word while trying not to wipe it out at the same time! 🤯 What helps a leftie with that?
@clfr21 I’ve always had both for nursery and reception and let them choose but suggest a swap if they are struggling. I figure it doesn’t do the right handed folk any harm to feel the awkwardness of being left handed! Everyone has to find the way that works for them.
@andrewhillandCo I was in a shop and felt people were far closer to me than they were before and I ended up getting closer to the cashier because I couldn’t understand what he was saying. I’ll do it but I’m not convinced it’s making much difference.
If we thought masks made such a difference why did people wait until they had to start wearing them? If they genuinely thought it made a difference than we would all have worn them from choice much earlier. I wear one because I have to, not because I think it makes anyone safer.
Coronavirus: Boris Johnson says response shows 'might of UK union'.
Eh? Didn’t the 3 other bits of our ‘union’ decide to ignore this plonker and deal with the crisis far better their own way? https://t.co/An42CJb0bX
@therroneill I like bright colours but not so many you’re in a paint box! I found a classroom with brown hessian effect like suffocating in a paper bag. What I hate more are classrooms that have been over ‘twinkl’ed.. reams and reams of key words and working walls.. that’s overloading for me.
