@SoftFurSunlight It's interesting that the conversation around Jax not only exaggerates but also ignores key aspects of her character. Jax definitely has internalized misogyny and exhibits gender envy towards Ragatha and Gangle as well as frustration towards Zooble's queerness. She's also a jerk.

@pk_kenzie No lie. One of my favorite characters is Beatrice Horseman. She's a piece of shit alcoholic abusive mother but my God is her story, character, history, and ending just incredibly fascinating. It's hard not to get invested in her despite how much of a bitch she is.

@mirioSumi @SoftFurSunlight The fact that Jax has deep internalized misogyny and also expresses gender envy and aggression towards women while avoiding any chance of a real connection with others and hiding their identity under several masks is what makes them a multi layered and interesting character.

@mirioSumi @SoftFurSunlight With Zooble, Jax does grab at them and insult them but Jax has a constant and never-ending target on Gangle (especially) and Ragatha. Jax is interesting because of their prejudices (their misogyny), coping methods, (aggression and avoidance), and fears (being open/real).

What is it about being shy, being nice, wearing dresses, being made/having ribbons all have in common that would attract the ire of someone with female hating tendencies.

@CytoSlate @SoftFurSunlight Misogyny is not just making fun of girly things. It's also the abuse and harm of those that exhibit traits or attributes that are traditionally feminine. Jax doesn't treat Zooble or Pomni the same way he does Gangle and Ragatha. And that's because those two are more feminine.

I loved this egotistical mess of an AI when he's at peak power and insanity realizing that his creator and those who he wanted the praise of the most killed him. It was such a strong scene and personality that bringing him back with an excuse just nullified all of this #TADCㅤ

@CytoSlate @SoftFurSunlight Occasional dig? Jax regularly physically puts their hands on Ragatha and Gangle or puts them in situations where they are physically harmed. Jax also verbally abused Gangle and consistently mocked them. Jax is a basically a woman beater.

Yeah I know a guy who said exactly this when he boarded a boat to Myanmar. Dude ended up getting trapped in a scam compound for 3 months. Friend had to bail him out with almost 40k (ahah) USD

I happen to know another guy who said similar thing. He got captured by rebel militia in the region and was kept in a waterlogged bamboo cage for a couple of months. Until he managed to ransome himself out.

I guess the wisdom here is not to go to shady places working suspiciously easy, high pay jobs.

@Burning_Myn Tbf, the circus cast is a lot more forgiving than most people would be in the same scenario. I think that's the beef. It's almost corny the amount of grace and patience Jax is given. I feel as if realistically would have been iced out and abstracted waayyy before Pomni got there
