Social democracy allows billionaires and the far right to exist, it's a failed system that needs the exploration of the proletariat to exist. The marxist definition of socialism isn't sustainable without a revolution, look at what happened to Salvador Allende.

People, especially in the US, use the word socialism ignoring the marxist definition, to describe something closer to a social democracy. It's still capitalism, the means of production are still owned by private individuals.
