Belle’s Message:
Some people have twisted Belle’s message in a way that misrepresents her intentions. The phrase “탈덕하지 말기로 약속” came after her chaotic birthday live & that TikTok video of her being bald. Fans had been teasing Belle about her “weird” star image & chaotic vibe, & saying that they’re ‘slightly embarrassed by her comedic image’ & she was just playing along with that energy. The phrase is a common jokey expression used in Korea when sharing something cringey or overly emotional, in a playful way. She was telling that particular kissy that they can’t leave her. It’s not meant to be some kind of confession or “warning” of any wrongdoing. Some twisted this into something much bigger than it was. Belle was simply joking with fans, not engaging in “damage control.” It’s easy to misunderstand her words without context, & I admit, I did the same at first. But once you get the tone & context, it’s clear she was just joking with her fans, not trying to cover up any mistakes. Does this make her actions better? Of course not. But if we’re going to hold her accountable, we should do so based on facts & evidence. We don’t need to lie and say she knew her actions were wrong & was begging fans not to hold her accountable for her ignorance.
