Really proud sharing the Louis Vuitton virtual try-on which is part of the LV By The Pool campaign created by https://t.co/76GzUtQual together with @SnapAR. This @Snapchat Lens seems like nothing really special from an Augmented Reality perspective but it actually is.

Hat try-ons usually have a well known issue which is the hair sticking through the 3D version of the hat. Yes there is a hair eraser which works with ML but this specific hat is somewhat see through due to the material. When applying the hair eraser, this caused looking like being bald under the hat. We created a feature combining the hair eraser, segmentation and a bit of magic, making the hair around the hat disappear.

I believe this is yet another step in making virtual try-ons even more realistic and offering the audience the best possible experience. An important part of the consumer journey within online (virtual) shopping.
