Great to see a large proportion of my PhD studies finally out in press! This was a large collaborative effort that we hope will provide a rudimentary framework for cardiac non-myocytes in the context of type-2 diabetes induced cardiomyopathy.
Thanks to all who made this possible
Congratulations @CharlieCohenPhD & all co-authors on this wonderful publication! We now have a better understanding the cardiac landscape using sc-RNA-seq in the diabetic heart! Great work that was a key focus in Charlie’s PhD 🥳👏

A day in the @pinto_lab 👨🔬🧪running a rather large immunofluorescence stain of an entire study at once 😅🤯 to validate findings from our exciting single-cell data! 📌📊Can’t wait to see what we see under the microscope 🔬 @BakerResearchAu@MAPP_latrobe@gab_farrugia
Congratulations to @CrisdionKrstev1@pinto_lab on his PhD mid-can talk on cardiac hypertrophy in a pathological & physiological setting. Crisdion has achieved so much in 2 yrs, not only is he an active member of the @MAPP_postgrads but has also contributed to 5 published papers!
Next we have Alex Pinto giving an overview on single-cell RNA sequencing and how it has generated a unique perspective on the #cardiac cellular landscape 🫀 @BakerResearchAu@MAPP_latrobe

Today our Research Education & Training Committee hosts inaugural 'Baker Institute Symposium' to celebrate homegrown talent, recognise recently completed PhDs, and award prizes to our brightest students & ECS. #phdchat@briandrew101 @ejhowden @MonashCCS @UniMelbMDHS @PAM_latrobe
Congrats @TaylahGaynor for taking out the Rod Andrew prize for best student oral presentation at our inaugural Baker Institute Symposium! And well done to all the finalists who presented their abstracts today, exhibiting the enormous contribution students make to our research. 👏
For anyone interested in optimizing their cardiac digestion protocol, see our latest work in @STARProtocols now! We thank our co-authors for their contributions and extend our congratulations to @gab_farrugia on her first, first author paper! https://t.co/Nx24YoAhri
While we know there are #SexDifferences in 🫀 pathology, the mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we underscore the importance of gonadal hormones and how they regulate the cardiac non-myocyte cellular landscape. See more below - thanks @CVR_TomaszGuzik for highlighting our work!
If you want to know what happens in the diabetic heart at a single cell level then @CharlieCohen12 has to be your go to person! The detail and quality of his work is outstanding 👏👏
Next on the ISHR Student Investigator session bill #csanz2021: @CharlieCohen12 taking us beyond cardiomyocytes and looking at the non-myocyte cellular landscape in the diabetic heart using single-cell #transcriptomics 🫀 #diabetes#phdchat
Tune in to #CSANZ2021 Mechanisms and Preclinical Discovery stream at 11am AEST today to hear from our incredible Student Investigator Finalists - Anida Velagic, Ayeshah Rosdah @BassStringer, @CharlieCohen12 & @marco_annandale. Good luck to all! #phdchat#CVresearch@thecsanz
We are so excited to share our latest #scRNAseq work CLARA: CardiovascuLAR Atlas for exploring cardiovascular cellular landscapes https://t.co/D5WqDpFtb0 @BakerResearchAu
