@Aylmer51@DeeWaynee94 Prior to that, Abraham said, 'I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you' (Gen. 22:5). Abraham was in direct communication with God.
@Aylmer51 The Gospels are firsthand apostolic testimony, not hearsay. Had Thomas erred, Christ, who corrected even minor missteps, would have rebuked him. 'Negative evidence' is still evidence; the clue is in the name.
@MarcusPoul26621@ClarkeMicah So what? The majority of individuals with various mental illnesses have been exposed to harmful chemicals, such as THC, toxic car emissions, etc.
@Unapologet26919@Aylmer51 Nice attempt at a straw man, yet unsuccessful. It is a scientific theory, much like the God hypothesis, and serves as a doctrinal framework for many atheists in their endeavour to fortify their faith in the pagan entity, 'No-God'.
@Unapologet26919@Aylmer51 Ah, the unproven doctrine of evolution. I have no more desire to go on that seemingly endless merry-go-round with you. I hope you one day break free from indoctrination and come to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
@Unapologet26919@Aylmer51 You've ignored my answer. However, if empathy is innate - by whose design? If it's just biology, then cruelty is just as natural. Recognising moral absence presupposes a standard - one that only God provides.
@Unapologet26919@Aylmer51 If God doesn't exist, evil intent is just a preference, not truly evil. You appeal to morality, yet without God, there's no objective good or evil - just atoms in motion. What I would do is speculative, but rapists and murderers aren't Christians.
@Unapologet26919@Aylmer51 It may not immediately affect those with evil intent, many care little for their own well-being. Millions are restrained from wrongdoing by faith in God; without Him, chaos would reign.
@Aylmer51 Much of 'science' is proving to be more speculative and faith-driven than atheists might prefer. You have no proof at all. Faith doesn't require proof; we have evidence - e.g., Jesus not rebuking Thomas for addressing Him as God (John 20:28–29), confirmed by Mark 16:19.
@Aylmer51 I shall not so indiscriminately generalise my brethren. Verily, even the blind may perceive the truth, and a wish, if aligned with reality, is no falsehood. These trifling buzzwords bear no weight as refutations, for truth is not undone by the feeble slanders of men.
@Aylmer51 It's in your best interest to acknowledge Jesus as God, regardless of the specious objections in your rebellious mind. Call it Pascal's wager if you must, and subside from insulting the blind. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. God bless.
